Great Oaks Quarter is a mixed-use development of 500 new homes and a range of flexible commercial and leisure uses in Basildon town centre. The proposals redevelop car parks and the former Basildon Post Office site, consolidating parking to unlock sites for development. The project will create a dynamic urban quarter and multigenerational neighbourhood, including PTE’s East Square cinema, currently under construction.

Great Oaks Quarter is the first step in a wider, ambitious masterplan by the council to transform Basildon’s town centre. The project includes renewed public realm, introducing a new network of streets and walkways in the town centre and wider pedestrian and cycle connections.

PTE’s designs respond to the heroic character of Basildon’s new town, including grade II listed Brooke House and East Square within the site. The masterplan combines civic elevations with verdant residential streets to create an architecture and identity that is unique to Basildon.
